As a child, Joyce had the opportunity to travel around the world, which introduced her to a variety of cultures as well as diverse socio-economic backgrounds and perspectives. This experience inspired her to dedicate her professional career to helping create a more equitable world. “The skills that we have are meant to be used to help others”, she says. “You don’t need a fancy profession like a doctor or an architect to do that; you can do that in any walk of life. If you live with that philosophy, you can make such a difference”. As a licensed Architect and Project Manager at LCM with over 15 years of experience in the building industry, she works with the constant objective of building strong relationships among clients, consultants, contractors, and communities. She believes architecture and responsive social design can empower individuals and transform communities.
