Joe’s design philosophy is “do no harm”. He remarks, “Spaces should always be improved and never diminished through design. Historical elements and materials should always be preserved whenever possible. Realizing this ideal takes the utmost thought and care”. As a licensed architect and accessibility specialist in the ADA consulting group, Joe applies his practical knowledge of local building codes and accessibility standards to improve the usability of the built environment for people of all abilities. Navigating multiple projects, managing schedules, and solving challenges are his forte. Growing up with a sister who uses a wheelchair, the notion of universal design meant to him that she could enjoy the same spaces as everyone else and their parents wouldn’t have to struggle with getting her around.
