“I’ve been working for 50 years, and it’s always been satisfying”, says Charles, a licensed architect specializing in educational and residential design. “Back in the day, one thing I did was design houses for very wealthy people. But when I started working on schools, I noticed an incredible difference in attitude, the camaraderie of the people I work with, and a sense of well-being. The feeling that we’re solving problems together, that we’re being useful to society, is always a reaffirmation of why I wanted to be an architect to begin with”, he shares. As an Accessibility Specialist at LCM, Charles researches accessibility standards and regulations as they apply in a K-12 setting and studies how specific products can help meet accessibility requirements.
