Accessibility Specialist, FHA

“The pressure of capitalism makes architecture very difficult because it doesn’t match the value system of our culture,” Carol remarks. “America is all about cheapness and speed. If you want something done well, it’s not going to be cheap and it’s not going to be fast”, she adds. A perceptive thinker and fearless speaker, Carol has been in the architecture and design industry for over four decades. Having witnessed the evolution of accessibility in architecture through the decades, she says, “Coming from old school architecture, we felt about accessibility issues as sort of tacked on at the end of the project when really, it has to be baked in from the very beginning.” At LCM, she applies her extensive professional experience in focusing on accessibility for housing projects.
