Transition Plan

LCM assisted West Virginia University to develop an ADA Transition Plan for providing a more inclusive campus environment. We conducted a comprehensive accessibility assessment of two main campuses in Morgantown and other WVU campuses. LCM’s evaluation and report addressed compliance with ADA Title II Standards and requirements and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.

Our team assessed academic, athletic, and residential facilities and identified noncompliant parking areas, and exterior routes. We conducted assessments in phases to meet the university’s annual budget and address the largest campuses first. Challenging topographic features, including eight experimental farms and four forests, called for unique accessibility strategies.

The Transition Plan report provides a framework for future alterations, renovations, and expansion projects to improve systemwide program accessibility.
