Surveys & Reports

The University of Chicago’s ADA Physical Access Plan affirms an impressive commitment to bring a high level of accessibility to campus.

LCM conducted surveys of all campus facilities and areas used by students, faculty, and the public. We surveyed academic, recreational, and residential buildings as well as exterior circulation routes. Surveys identified elements not in compliance with ADA Title III regulations. These assessments defined the scope of accessibility barriers on the 217 acre, urban campus.

Our final report detailed recommended barrier removal modifications. Cost was one factor we considered when prioritizing remedial actions based on need and feasibility. This information enabled the University to formulate immediate and long-term accessibility strategies for its Physical Access Plan.

“Thanks to their detailed surveys, the LCM folks came to know our campus better than most people who spend decades here. Their deep knowledge of the intricacies of requirements, creative problem-solving, and relentless pursuit of accuracy in all reporting matters, they proved a vital resource to us.”
– Ingrid Gould, Assistant Vice President and Associate Provost, University of Chicago
