LCM plays a significant role in making Chicago Public Schools facilities and programs more accessible to all students, including those with disabilities. Our work addresses ADA and local code compliance for new construction, additions, and alterations.

Since a major Capital Improvement Program initiated in 1996, we have worked with CPS staff, Managing Architects, and Program Manager teams to evaluate and find accessibility compliance solutions for buildings of all vintages. Our services range from architectural drawing reviews, field oversight, and construction compliance review to identifying product issues and suggesting alternatives. We also provide technical assistance and training for architects, construction managers, general contractors, staff, facility managers, and design/program managers.  

LCM was the universal design consultant for Langston Hughes Elementary School. We also provided architectural services to remove accessibility barriers in some schools.
