LCM is providing full architectural services for The Den on University, a five-story, off-campus student housing building near the University of Illinois (UIUC) campus. The development followed a PUD process.
Building includes:
- Four floors of apartments
- A gym
- Lobby
- Covered, ground level parking
The podium-style building is designed in a clean, contemporary genre. The residential architectural elements include balconies and brick accents. Large windows that bathe the interior in natural light recall the industrial, loft look of many pre-war buildings in the area.
Four-bedroom units have suite style bedrooms with a communal galley kitchen and dining area. Other units have a living room and kitchen area. Bedrooms in all units have private bathrooms. This student housing development follows a co-living model leasing structure with each tenant separately renting a bedroom.
LCM Architects partners with Green Street Reality on this project and several other multi-family developments including the Fields South Development.
