Marca Bristo’s Death, A Loss For All

Marca Bristo’s Death, A Loss For All

Our friend Marca Bristo died Sunday, September 8 at home in Chicago. A lifelong activist in the disability rights movement, Marca moved lives and minds towards a more equitable society. She was a champion for every person with a disability today and those who will have a disability tomorrow. Marca holds a special place in our hearts as a personal and professional friend. While her loss is both poignant and profound, we will always be proud to honor and advance her legacy through our accessibility work.

I had the privilege of knowing Marca since 1977 and have considered her a friend and mentor. She helped shape my understanding of how public policy can have a positive impact on the lives of people with disability as well as their friends and family. She will be missed.
