Hill & Padilla Join ADA25 Advancing Leadership
LCM proudly announces that Whitney Hill and Barbara Padilla, AIA, recently were welcomed to ADA25 Advancing Leadership’s Member Network.
Whitney and Barbara are accessibility specialists at LCM Architects. Whitney recently completed a year-long program as a fellow with the organization’s Leadership Institute. The unique program focuses on leadership skills and opportunities while providing training on disability identity and civic engagement.
ADA25 Advancing Leadership was launched in 2015 as an initiative of the Chicago Community Trust. As a strong, independent nonprofit today, it continues to bring the disability perspective to Chicago’s tables of power and influence.
Members are leaders from all walks of corporate, nonprofit, and civic life. Through mentoring, support, and civic opportunities, they are increasing the leadership role of people with disabilities in the Chicago region. As ‘positive disruptors’, they believe the experience, ideas, and leadership of people with disabilities are vital to achieving justice.
LCM Partner Jack Catlin, FAIA, served on the Executive Committee of Chicago Community Trust for 10 years. He helped to develop ideas for celebrating the ADA’s 25th anniversary in Chicago. As a CCC board member he strongly supported the ADA25 Advancing Leadership initiative, a successful legacy of the ADA’s milestone observance.
