Doug Anderson focuses on assisting business and government organizations to understand and comply with state and federal accessibility codes and standards. He has developed and led nationwide accessibility survey projects and served as an expert in accessibility related cases.
Doug leads the firm’s accessibility consulting work with several Fortune 500 Companies. He works with clients to provide a full range of services from preparing surveys, coordinating the physical survey work, documenting the findings, and outlining recommendations for compliance with accessibility codes and standards.
Additionally, Doug is involved in the firm’s work with government agencies. He is the partner in charge of the firm’s Fair Housing Accessibility FIRST project. As part of his responsibilities for the project, he is a technical trainer for the program. He also provides technical guidance to the questions that are asked through the Agency’s toll free information line and website.
Doug is currently working with many of the major hospitality brands, ownership groups, and designers on projects ranging from multisite ADA portfolio reviews to consulting on litigation related issues. He has also assisted clients with the development of training materials, self survey forms, prototype plan review, ADA design manuals, and accessible product review.
Doug served on the U.S. Access Board, the federal agency responsible for developing guidelines under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) from 2003 to 2011. He chaired the Board from 2009 to 2010.
