Wishnick Hall, designed by Mies van der Rohe, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This status called for careful consideration of the original design in LCM’s renovation of its 2nd and 3rd floors. LCM selected finishes, cabinetry, and fixtures that seamlessly complement the original architecture while at the same time provide a state-of-the-art environment for scientific instruction and investigation.

The 2nd floor houses teaching spaces for chemistry and general, organic, analytical and physical chemistry labs. The 3rd floor is comprised of teaching spaces, laboratories and faculty offices for biomedical engineering. The state-of-the-art laboratories include new mechanical systems and lighting that preserve the appearance of the interior when viewed from the exterior.
